Detailed JEECUP Counselling Process
Step 1: JEECUP Counselling Registration
To participate in the JEECUP counselling process, candidates must first visit the JEECUP website and click on the link for counselling registration. They will then need to submit their personal and academic information and submit the registration form. This step must be completed in order to be eligible for the counselling process.
Step 2: Choice Filling and Locking
In the second step of the JEECUP counselling process, candidates must select their preferred courses and institutions in order of preference. It is important to select as many options as possible to increase the chances of being offered a seat.
After making their selections, candidates must "lock" their choices, or the authorities will finalise the choices made initially. This step must be completed after paying the JEECUP counselling fees.
Step 3: JEECUP Seat Allotment
In the third step of the JEECUP counselling process, the authorities will consider various factors, such as the candidates' rank in the exam, their preferred courses and institutions, and the availability of seats in each institute.
Based on this information, the authorities will announce the JEECUP seat allotment for the year. Candidates who are offered a seat need to pay a seat acceptance fee of ₹3000, which will be adjusted against the admission fee at the allotted institute.
Step 4: Freeze or Float Option Selection
In the fourth step of the JEECUP counselling process, candidates who have been allotted a seat will have the option to choose between the "freeze" or "float" options. Candidates who choose the freeze option must report to a district help centre for document verification.
On the other hand, candidates who choose the float option will have the chance to wait for a seat in a higher preference institute or course, if one becomes available. The choice between freeze and float must be made online.
Step 5: Document Verification
In the fifth step of the JEECUP counselling process, candidates who have been allotted a seat will need to report to the allotted institute for document verification. This process ensures that candidates meet the eligibility requirements for the program they have been offered a seat in.
Note: Candidates who fail to report for document verification before the relevant JEECUP counselling date will be disqualified from the counselling process.
