Detailed KCET Counselling Process

The KCET counselling process for 2023 consists of the following four steps:

  • KCET Counselling Registration and Document Verification
  • Choice Filling and Locking
  • Seat Allotment, and
  • Reporting to the Allotted College for Admission.
Step 1: KCET Counselling Registration and Document Verification
  • The first stage of the KCET counselling process for 2023 is candidate registration and document verification.
  • This stage is conducted after the announcement of KCET results. This stage aims to verify the candidates' eligibility and ensure that they meet the requirements for admission.
  • Candidates who have been selected for admission must have their documents verified before they can be admitted to their desired course at an institution.

During this process, candidates will need to present a list of documents. The documents needed for KCET counselling are as follows:

  • The KCET application form
  • Proof of Application/KCET Counselling Fee Payment
  • KCET Admit Card
  • Class 10 Mark Sheet
  • Class 12 Mark Sheet
  • Two Passport-sized photographs and
  • Any caste certificates that may be applicable.
Step 2: Choice Filling and Locking
  • During the choice filling and locking stage of KCET counselling for 2023, candidates must log in to their account using their user ID and password, which were provided at the time of document verification.
  • After logging in, they can see the availability of seats in various colleges by branch and category.
  • Candidates will then need to select their preferred colleges and courses and lock their choices before the deadline.
  • It is important for candidates to carefully consider their choices and research the trends of previous years' KCET counselling and admission processes before making their selections.
  • They should also consider the previous year's KCET cut-off ranks and closely consider the colleges they are interested in before making their choices.
Step 3: Seat Allotment
  • The KCET seat allotment process for 2023 involves two steps. First, the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will conduct a mock seat allotment.
  • The results for this mock allotment will be announced in the last week of October 2023.
  • Candidates will be able to modify their choices after the mock allotment is completed. After this, the final seat allotment will be conducted.
Step 4: Reporting to the Allotted College for Admission
  • The last stage of the counselling process involves visiting the allotted college with all necessary documents and the allotment letter, paying the fee to confirm the allotment, and securing admission.
  •  It is important for candidates to stay informed about the process by regularly checking the KEA official website.
