Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra, conducts the MAH MBA CET exam or Maharashtra Common Entrance Test. It is an important state-level exam for MBA course admissions in more than 330 MBA colleges in Maharashtra. For MBA admission to various top colleges, the State CET Cell will conduct the exam on behalf of the Maharashtra Government. 

There are 47 test centres in India for the MAH CET MBA CAP entrance exam. The Centralised Admission Process (CAP) offered admission to 36000 test takers into the MBA program in Maharashtra last year, out of more than 132000 applications.

What is MAH CET MBA CAP?

  • The MAH-SCETC or Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell conducts MAH MBA CET each year for shortlisting candidates for MBA admission to top MBA colleges in Maharashtra.

Criteria

MAH CET MBA CAP Round I

  • Candidates whose names appear in the first allotment list will not be eligible for further CAP rounds.
  • The candidate will be responsible for confirming their admission to the institute assigned to them.
  • The filled CAP round 1 seat will no longer be available for subsequent rounds.

MAH CET MBA CAP Round II

  • The names of candidates who get allotment in the first seven stages will not be allowed to participate in subsequent rounds of CAP selection.
  • Candidates must confirm their admission at their allotted institutes.
  • The filled CAP round 2 seats will no longer be available for subsequent rounds.

MAH CET MBA CAP Round III

  • Non-Maharashtra candidates are not eligible to participate in CAP round 3.
  • Seats from rounds 1 and 2 will carry forward to round 3 of CAP.
  • Candidates must then confirm their assigned seats at the college.

MAH MBA CET CAP Round 2023 – Registration and Seat Allotment

Below are the four steps of the MBA CET CAP round 2023:

Step 1: Candidate registration

  • Create an account on the official website by registering as a new user.
  • Use the same login credentials to upload documents and complete the CAP form on the official website.
  • Scan and upload the required documents (passport-size photo and signature in recommended dimensions) along with your application.
  • Print the completed application form and send it by speed/registered mail or visit the Facilitation Centre to verify documents and confirm submission.
  • Upon verification of the application form, candidates will receive an acknowledgement of fee payment.

Step 2: Provisional merit list announcement

  • After submitting the application forms, DTE will announce the provisional merit list and MBA CET cut-offs.
  • Applicants can submit grievances and required documents to the same Facilitation Center, where they verify their application.

Step 3: Final merit list announcement

  • DTE will announce the final merit list and available seats in all three CAP rounds.
  • A candidate appearing for any MAH CET CAP round must report to the ARC (Admission Reporting Center) for document verification and admission confirmation.

Step 4: Seat Allotment

  • The exam conducting body will allocate seats according to the candidate's rank on the merit list.
  • Students issued a seat according to their first preference must accept and freeze it, as they cannot participate in further rounds of the CAP process.
