MAT Exam Events Dates 2025

  • MAT Registration 2025: Candidates can register for any MAT session—February, May, September, or December—based on their preparation and preference. The MAT 2025 application form must be completed and submitted online at the MAT official website - mat.aima.in.
  • MAT Admit Card 2025: Admit cards for each session will be released as per the official schedule. Candidates must download their admit card to appear for the exam. Those opting for IBT mode will also need to download the admit card for remote proctored verification.
  • MAT Exam 2025: The test pattern is the same for PBT, CBT, and IBT modes. Candidates will attempt 150 multiple-choice questions in 120 minutes, covering Language Comprehension, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis & Sufficiency, and Economic & Business Environment. Each question will have four answer options.
  • MAT Result 2025: The MAT scorecard will be available a few weeks after the exam on the candidate’s dashboard. Test-takers will be notified via email and can download the result using their login credentials. Candidates may use their best score across multiple attempts for MBA admissions.
  • MAT Admission 2025: AIMA will share MAT scores with the five B-schools selected in the application form. If candidates meet the institute’s cutoff, they will be invited for the MBA selection process. Additionally, candidates can apply to other colleges separately using their MAT score.

MAT Exam Important Features 2025

MAT is known as one of the most student-friendly MBA entrance exams. Conducted in multiple modes and sessions, it allows candidates to take the test more than once in the same academic year and improve their scores. Below are the important details:

  • The exam pattern, structure, and difficulty level are the same across PBT (Paper-Based Test), CBT (Computer-Based Test), and IBT (Internet-Based Test).
  • MAT 2025 PBT and CBT exams will be held in around 35 cities across India, with CBT available in more locations than PBT.
  • In PBT mode, answers must be marked on an OMR sheet. No subjective questions are included.
  • Fee payment is mandatory while submitting the MAT application form, and the payment deadline is the same as the form submission deadline.
  • Candidates can appear in multiple sessions or exam modes, but a separate fee is charged for each attempt. A fee concession is available for those applying for two sessions in the same phase.
  • The exam duration is now 2 hours (earlier 2.5 hours), with 150 questions (earlier 200). Each of the five sections contains 30 multiple-choice questions.
  • The Economic & Business Environment section score is not considered for percentile calculation.

Candidates must select their exam mode based on city availability and are advised to apply early. They can choose up to two preferred cities for PBT/CBT test centres, but final allotment is at the discretion of AIMA and cannot be changed once assigned.

  • IBT exams are conducted in two slots: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Candidates can select their preferred date and slot while filling out the form.
  • For IBT, identity verification is done through remote proctoring using a valid photo ID and the MAT 2025 admit card.
  • Candidates wishing to retake MAT can apply again in any session.
  • MAT scores are accepted by 800+ MBA colleges in India, most of which are private institutions.

Take the first step towards your dream job.
