Maharashtra Common Entrance Test or MHT CET is a state-level examination for admission to engineering, technology, and pharmacy disciplines. This entrance examination is conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai.

Candidates seeking admission to Bachelor of Technology or Bachelor of Pharmacy courses should prepare for the MHT CET. MHT CET: Age Limit, Average Marks, Nationality

Like every other entrance test, MHT CET 2023 has various eligibility conditions for the candidates, like age limit, nationality, minimum aggregate marks, etc. 

Following are the general MH CET eligibility conditions that candidates must fulfil.

  • Nationality - Indian Nationals can apply for the exam
  • MHT CET Age limit - No Limit
  • Minimum marks required for MHT CET - Candidates must complete 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects from a recognised university/board. Candidates still appearing for the qualifying examination can also apply and appear for MHT CET.
  • Minimum marks required for MHT CET - 
  • Unreserved categories: At least 45% in 10+2 or equivalent examination
  • Reserved categories: At least 40% in 10+2 or equivalent examination

  • Candidates must have passed the 10+2/equivalent exam with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects with a combination of – Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical/ Vocational subjects.
    • Unreserved Category: Minimum of 45% marks in 12th Final
    • Reserved Category: Minimum of 40% marks required
    • Candidates from Maharashtra: Minimum 40% marks in their 12th-grade finals.

OR

  • Candidates that have completed a Diploma in Engineering and Technology are eligible for MHT CET
    • Unreserved Category: Minimum of 45% marks in 12th Final
    • Reserved Category: Minimum of 40% marks required
    • Candidates from Maharashtra: Minimum 40% marks in their 12th-grade finals.

OR

  • Candidates that have completed a B.Sc. Degree from a recognised university are eligible for MHT CET
    • Unreserved Category: Minimum of 45% marks in 12th Final
    • Reserved Category: Minimum of 40% marks required
    • Candidates from Maharashtra: Minimum 40% marks in their 12th-grade finals.

All India Candidates (AI)

Jammu & Kashmir Migrant Candidates

Children of NRI/OCI/PIO/Indian workers in Gulf Countries, Foreign National (FN) Candidates

  • These candidates must have passed the HSC or equivalent exam with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects with one of these – Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical/ Vocational subjects with at least 45% marks in all the above subjects taken together.

Beyond the general eligibility criteria, authorities have laid specific guidelines for candidates permanently residing in an area designated as a disputed border of Maharashtra and Karnataka. 

  • Candidates must produce a Domicile certificate from the Headmaster/Principal of the School/college.
  • Candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination from a school situated in that disputed border area.
  • Candidates must have studied Marathi as one of the subjects in 10+2 or equivalent examinations.
  • Candidates must speak Marathi as their mother tongue, and to certify that, they must produce a certificate from the Principal/Headmaster of the College/School from where they qualified 12th standard examination.

To apply for MHT CET, candidates need to visit the official website and follow these steps:

  • Fill out the application form with your personal and educational details. 
  • Upload scanned images and signatures in the prescribed size format
  • Pay the application fee and complete your registration.
