  • Placement Record: Amrita School of Engineering is one of the top private engineering colleges in Kerala. As per the 2018-19 placement data, the average salary offered was ₹5.73 lakh per year, and the highest salary offered was ₹28.4 lakh per year.

2. National Institute of Technology, Calicut

  • NIRF Ranking 2022: 31
  • Courses Offered: NIT, Calicut, offers 54 courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. The offered degrees include B.Arch, B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Arch, M.Sc, M.B.A, M.C.A and PhD. 
  • Course Fee: ₹5.42 lakh for a 4-year BTech course in Computer Science.
  • Admission Process: NIT, Calicut considers the JEE Main score of candidates applying for a BTech degree. For M.Tech, students must clear the GATE examination, and for MCA, the college accepts NIMCET scores. Besides the exams mentioned, NIT accepts national-level entrance exam scores like CAT for MBA admission.
  • Placement Record: NIT, Calicut, is one of the top government engineering colleges in Kerala. During the 2021 placement drive, NIT, Calicut UG students received an average package of ₹9.1 lakh per year.

3. Indian Institute of Technology, Palakkad

  • NIRF Ranking 2022: 68
  • Courses Offered: IIT, Palakkad, offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral-level courses. The offered degrees include B.Tech in Civil Engineering, B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering, M.Tech in Data Science, M.Sc. in Chemistry and Mathematics, and PhD in Chemistry. IIT Palakkad also offers M.S in Research Civil Engineering.
  • Course Fee: ₹8.10 lakh for a 4-year BTech course in Computer Science.
  • Admission Process: Candidates aspiring to pursue B.Tech courses from IIT Palakkad must clear the JEE Advanced entrance examination. They must also register on the JoSAA counselling to confirm their choice of courses and institutions. On the other hand, M.Tech courses admit students through the GATE examination, and for M.Sc., students must clear IIT-JAM.
  • Placement Record: During the 2021 placement drive, IIT-Palakkad was offered a salary in the range of Rs. ₹3.30 lakh per year to ₹31.59 lakh per year.

4. Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram

  • NIRF Ranking 2022: 43
  • Courses Offered: IIST, Thiruvananthapuram, is one of the top government engineering colleges in Kerala. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in areas of engineering, sciences, computer applications, and humanities.
  • Course Fee: ₹5.48 lakh for a 4-year BTech course in Aerospace Engineering.
  • Admission Process: All aspirants of the B.Tech degree must qualify JEE Advanced entrance examination. On the other hand, M.Tech courses admit students through the GATE examination.
  • Placement Record: After completing a 4-year UG course, students were offered a median salary of ₹9.13 lakh per year.

5. College of Engineering, Trivandrum

  • NIRF Ranking 2020: 110
  • Courses Offered: College of Engineering is one of the popular engineering colleges in Kerala. It offers over 68 courses in the field of engineering, IT, and management.
  • Course Fee: ₹1.13 lakh for a 4-year B.Tech course in Civil Engineering.
  • Admission Process: For admission into its B.Tech courses, CET or College of Engineering considers the Kerala Engineering, Architecture, Medical Entrance Examination (KEAM) score. M.Tech courses, on the other hand, admit students through the GATE examination, while admission into MBA is made on the basis of  CMAT/CAT/KMAT scores.
  • Placement Record: As per 2021 placement data, CET students, after completing a 4-year UG course, were offered a median salary of ₹5.75 lakh per year.

6. Government Engineering College, Thrissur

  • NIRF Ranking 2020: 156 
  • Courses Offered: GEC, or Government Engineering College, offers 32 UG and PG programmes courses. 
  • Course Fee: ₹17.29 thousand for a 4-year B.Tech course in Civil Engineering.
  • Admission Process: GEC accepts several state-level and national-level entrance exam scores. For admission into its BTech programme, the candidates need to clear KEAM or Kerala Engineering, Architecture, Medical Entrance Examination. On the other hand, candidates have to appear for NATA or National Aptitude Test in Architecture for entry into GEC’s B.Arch programme.
  • Placement Record: As per 2021 placement data, GEC students, after completing a 4-year UG course, were offered a median salary of ₹3.70 lakh per year.

7. School of Engineering, Cochin University of Science and Technology

  • NIRF Ranking 2020: 178
  • Courses Offered: School of Engineering offers 21 courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the engineering discipline.
  • Course Fee: ₹1.82 lakh for a 4-year B.Tech course in Civil Engineering.
  • Admission Process: School of Engineering admits students on the basis of their scores in CUSAT CAT. For M.Tech degrees, the School of Engineering accepts the GATE score.
  • Placement Record: As per 2019 placement data, students of the School of Engineering, after completing a 4-year UG course, were offered a median salary of ₹3.5 lakh per year.

8. RSET Kochi - Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology

  • NIRF Ranking 2022: 201-250 Band

9. MITS Ernakulam - Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science

  • NIRF Ranking 2022: 251-300 Band
  • Courses Offered: MITS offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the fields of engineering, computer application, and technology.

  • Course Fee: ₹45.02 thousand for a 4-year B.Tech course in Computer Science and Engineering.
  • Admission Process: TKM admits students into its BTech programmes on the basis of their scores in the KEAM or Kerala Engineering, Architecture, Medical Entrance Examination. For M.Tech degrees, MITS accepts the GATE score.
